CHARACTER INFORMATION

Character Name: Thor Odinson
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Canonpoint: Post credits of Thor: Ragnarok
Character Age: Looks to be early 30's, roughly 1,200 or so years old.

Background/History:
MCU wikia

Strengths:

Warmth/Graciousness:
If you were here, I might even give you a hug.

The most notable aspect of Thor's character is his warm, friendly demeanor. He can be intimidating to behold, but he values love, family and friendship above all things. He has weathered much from Loki's betrayal, but he still has a great deal of love for him. This plays into his sense of humor and wit, his affectionate nature and his loyalty. He puts up with a lot of shit (and he gives a lot too) but you will never find a better friend. Thor is there when everything goes to shit, and he's more than willing to help even strangers out of dire situations.

Loyalty:
Believe me, I would love for someone else to rule. But it can't be you.

Thor's loyalty is a strong aspect of his character. It drives a lot of the choices he makes through life. It probably stems from the warrior-like upbringing he had on Asgard, but his word means a lot to him. He doesn't make promises he can't keep, and he expects the same of others. Perhaps too much, at times. Although he's weathered much betrayal from Loki, he's still willing to give him an out in a manner that is peaceful for both of them.

He found interest in Earth and thus, takes his role as an Avenger very seriously. He's loyal to his father to the end, despite their differences. His friends are his friends forever and although he stepped back from Asgard, he came back and sacrificed everything to protect it. He holds the entire weight of Asgard on his shoulders, and he has risen to his position as King at the most difficult time, because he knows his people need him.

Bravery:
Because that's what heroes do!

Nothing stands in Thor's way when he's doing what he believes is right. He's incredibly determined, if not a little head strong, but he'll put his life on the line to protect his people (friends, citizens of Asgard and Midgard, family). Thor will put everything he has into a fight and he will do whatever it takes, even if it means going about it in unconventional manners (ie; trusting Loki, again).

Weaknesses:

Temper
We're not friends, and I don't give a shit about your games!

Thor was once renowned for his foul, childish temper and mood swings. In recent years, he's got it under control somewhat, but he's still prone to the occasional (violent) lash out. An example of this is when he went straight for Tony's throat in his rage during Age of Ultron. Arguably, he gets mad for better reasons these days, but he still has a tendency to throw things around, stomp and sulk. When he's on Sakaar, he lashes out at the Hulk and he gets petty. He insults his decor as well as his intelligence and he gets into a screaming match with a literal rage monster.

Pride
Yes, of course. People on earth love me, I'm very popular.

Being the Son of Odin, Strongest Warrior of Asgard and God of Thunder gives Thor a lot of reason to be smug. He's still prone to using his name and his reputation to get his way and he tends to assume people know who he is. Confidence isn't a bad thing, but sometimes Thor takes it to the next level. He anticipates that he will be able to influence situations in his favor, and it wounds him when things don't work out that way.

Stubbornness
I make grave mistakes all the time. Everything seems to work out...

Once Thor decides or fixates on something, it's difficult to lead him off his path. He knows what he's about, most of the time. He likes to think he knows what's right and that he makes good, educated choices. Sometimes, he's just going with his gut and sometimes it means you get dragged into things with him. To Thor, doing something is always better than being complacent. It just so happens that doing something also means doing something reckless and dangerous.

Fatal Flaw: Thor's fatal flaw, above his pride and temper, is that he takes on so much. It's very likely that he could bite off more than he can chew or cripple himself under the weight of all the responsibility he's carrying. So far plot armor he's managed to push through, but his luck could easily run out.

Driving Force: Thor's driving force is his sense of responsibility. It doesn't take much for him to feel personally responsible for something, he was only on Earth for a few weeks before he decided to become its Intergalactic Ambassador. His responsibility comes from a mix of his loyalty and his warmth, overall he fights for peace and he wants everyone to go home safely and live happy lives.

Patron:
Thor's traits mirror Jupiter's quite nicely. He's the King of the Gods back home, he's a man of influence but he's not corruptible. Thor is a fair, just leader and he wants what is best for the majority, not for himself. He's a confident person, but that can bleed into his ego from time to time. It also means he's hard to sway from his paths.

His moodiness will become very apparent, because he will have a lot to say about this situation. At least it will be no surprise to him that he's assigned to Jupiter, and he will probably regard him as the most reasonable of the gods. Of course he is, he's just like Thor.

GAME INFORMATION

Setting Suitability: A lot of the setting is already very familiar to Thor, particularly since he just left a planet obsessed with gladiatorial combat. My plans for Thor are definitely to have him get right into the fighting so he can make a name for himself as a formidable warrior. He will be watching over the others, trying to train them up to his standards so that they have a chance to protect themselves against whatever might be coming their way.

I'm looking to have him take on a position of influence, whether it's official or an unspoken thing among his peers. I want him to work on rebuilding his influence, despite the fact that he's much weaker than he is back home.
