THE CHARACTER

Character Name: Thor Odinson
Series: MCU
Canon Point: End of Thor 3
Character Age: Over 1000, appears about 30 or so years old.

Background:
Thor's Marvel Cinematic Universe Wikia Entry.

Personality: Thor is the strongest warrior on a planet full of warriors. He's a prince of an ancient, powerful Kingdom from a culture not unlike one from Viking ages. For a long time, he gained a sense of purpose and pride from these things but did not come to understand the responsibility. It took being without power for him to understand what power is and what it does to people, making him a little more enlightened nowadays. Thor is still a warrior. He is strong in body and mind. He's stubborn and brave, he fights for what he believes in and he uses everything he has to protect Earth, Asgard and anyone who falls into his circle. Although he's battle hardened, he believes in the good in people, especially his brother. His absolute loyalty isn't easily won, but once you have it he's hard to get rid of.

Although Thor has wisened up considerably in the last few years, he's still hot-headed with a fierce temper. He clashes with people, and he clashes hard. He can get physical and loud, and he will often try to argue until he gets his way. Often, Thor marches forward despite all adversity to get his way. Luckily, his stubborn nature is usually an advantage when it comes to battles that seen unwinnable. Lately, Thor more readily admits his mistakes. He can admit he has been hotheaded or rude and he is quick to own to his shortcomings. This can probably be attributed to the fact that he carries a lot of blame for how things went with Loki, even if he knows that it was beyond his control in many ways. Thor has the manners of a prince, when he remembers them. He can be very formal and cordial, but it doesn't take long to break down these barriers.

Often, Thor is mistaken as a stupid or foolish person. This is probably because he's a loud, stubborn person who gives his trust readily. In reality, Thor can be quite cunning and even manipulative when he needs to be. He can distract Loki and cuff him without his noticing, he can curry favour with both Bruce and The Hulk by telling different lies to them and he can make hard choices to save more people. He demonstrates this when he destroys the physical realm of Asgard in order to drastically reduce Hela's power. He is able to make sacrifices and tough calls when it comes down to it. Thor carries burdens on his shoulders with what looks like ease, but he struggles with his burdens often. It's rare that he would ever vent about them, he sees them as his responsibility as a warrior and (now) a king.

The manly, strong exterior can also give the wrong impression. Thor can be gruff, but he's quite sweet. He smiles and laughs often and he has a friendly demeanor. He eases into casual conversation well and he likes to tease and flirt. He can come off as very severe and serious, but he's sarcastic with a sense of dry humor that verges on silly at times.

Powers/Abilities:
Asgardian strength and agility:
Thor can smash buildings and scale them easily in canon. He can lift creatures and objects that are far bigger than him. Things like fire and explosions don't injure him as easily as they would a human and he can withstand aggressive, powerful beatings from the Hulk without dying.

Lightning powers:
Thor can summon storms, lighting and thunder. He can summon large bolts of lightning and direct them with his body.

Regenerative powers:
In canon, Thor heals rapidly. In the span of a few hours.

Power Nerfs (if applicable): I definitely understand if Thor would need to be nerfed, he could probably destroy quite a bit. However, he would need a lot of incentive to actually go ham and wreck the joint.

Inventory: Nothing but his clothing and his eyepatch.

Incentives: :
The guaranteed safety of Thor's loved ones would be an extremely powerful motivator.

He would also be motivated by the prospect of helping him find a safe place for the citizens of Asgard, as Asgard has been destroyed.

For smaller incentives, he would enjoy Asgardian artifacts (if they are somehow accessible) or alcohol that is the same strength as that of Asgardian ale.
