[ His lips twitch into a weak smile, but it's clear Loki's heart isn't into it. ]

What do you expect then?

I expect nothing. I hope for everything.

[Very cheesy, but it needed to be said.]

I hope for our futures to intertwine again, but if we need to go our seperate ways then I can abide by it.

[ Moments pass and it seems like Loki is ready to leave. He's said too much and the weight of it hangs over them like a noose. Taako said he had changed and Taako wasn't given to lying. Steve had said as much too. But so much of Loki wonders how much he was lying or whether he was, without even knowing it.

But Thor says I expect nothing and it feels like that weight has slightly lifted. Tentatively he reaches out to squeeze Thor's shoulder. ]

I am sorry about Father.

[ I am sorry about me, but Loki would never say that. He never will. ]

[The squeeze of his shoulder is more comforting than Loki probably even realises. Thor is starting to withdraw, somewhat. He feels less persistent about salvaging their relationship and yet, more confident that Loki will be fine on his own.

Sometimes he wonders if it would be better for them both if he were to leave this place alone. Leave Loki to his life, let him grow, do as he pleases without wondering what Thor will want of him.

Thor pats Loki's hand, but he can't help himself from holding onto it for a few seconds.]

He's in for a rude awakening, I'm sure. Maybe when I find him, we'll talk about it. Maybe he'll never bring it up so long as I have Mjolnir with me. It's not as if I'll lose it any time soon.

[He chuckles at the mere thought of actually losing his hammer.]

I think I understand a little better. Why you felt the way you did.

[ Loki keeps his hand there before gently pulling it back. ]

It's not the same. And it is not — what I wanted.

You don't want me to have uncontrollable lightning powers? How selfish.

[dothelokimotion]

[ He rolls his eyes, swatting Thor's shoulder lightly. ]

Knowing your self-control, you're bound to give everyone minute shocks.

You're welcome to help me with target practice.

That sounds like an excuse to hit me with lightning. I remember that from your "target practice" with your hammer.

Any excuse is a good excuse. [His grin is sly.]

Maybe when we finally go hunting you can get help.

[ His eyes narrow suspiciously. Loki is all too familiar with that phrase. ]

And what would I be getting help for?

[ His eyes widen. ]

Oh, no. We're not doing that.

No, we're not. [He says, as if agreeing.]

Not yet.

Not ever. I hated that move.

Then why were you so good at it?

Anyone can be good at it! And I was the only one who would let you do it.

You did it before and you can do it again. [In one ear, out the other.]

Has Rogers given you a present yet? [He changes the subject so he can never be wrong.]

[ He blinks, caught off guard by that change of topic. ]

Steve? No. He is still teasing me about it.

Maybe he's still floundering. [Thor's smile is wry.]

He's working hard to meet your high standards.

[dothelokimotion]

[ A fond smiles touches his lips at that. ]

He works very hard indeed.

I hope it pays for him.

[He considers dancing around the subject before he decides to be crude.]

Have you bedded him yet?

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki is no prude by any means, but even that blunt tone makes him stutter. ]

Thor you cannot just — [ He sighs, cutting himself off because Thor would do it regardless. ]

[Thor pretends to look scandalized, but he can't help but be amused. He's proud, he doesn't know why.]

Very bold of the Captain. [He quirks a brow.] He must have met your standards, then.

[He knows how fussy Loki can be.]

I made those up.

[ For the most part. Loki hadn't really believed in them. They were a pipe dream. Steve, however was real and his devotion was real. ]

But he thinks the world of me.
